About Me.
Hey y'all! My name is Kirsty - pronounced like thirsty - and I am a first generation immigrant, naturalized citizen, and totally new to understanding the American political scene. I graduated at 19 from Sam Houston State University - eat 'em up Kats - with a degree in criminal justice. This summer, I start law school, and have taken a large interest in the way our legal, judicial, and executive branches interact. I know firsthand that it can be hard to sort through all the bills, finding the ones that you are interested in following, seeing which pass and which don't. At the time of writing, around 3,000 House Bills have been introduced in Texas - and only a handful of those will come to fruition. Use this as your starting block - call your representatives about bills that you are passionate about, testify on hearing days - make your voice HEARD! The legislative session isn't just about our representatives - it's about us.
